EOT Cranes and their Benefits

EOT Cranes and their Benefits

Electric Overhead Traveling (EOT) Cranes are one of the most commonly used types of overhead cranes and play a crucial role in various industrial applications. EOT cranes have parallel runways, and a traveling bridge crosses the gap. The hoist is mounted over the traveling bridge. These cranes are operated electrically with a control pendant station or an operator’s cabin attached to the crane. In addition to horizontal movement, EOT cranes can also lower or raise heavy loads.

Two main types of EOT cranes are commonly supplied by EOT crane manufacturers in India, which are Double Girder EOT Crane and Single Girder EOT Crane.

Single Girder Cranes have one primary bridge and are relatively small and light in structure making them an excellent choice for light industrial applications. The main components of the single girder cranes are an electrically managed hoist, the bridge, and end beams.

Unlike single girder cranes, double girder cranes have two main bridges which make them muchmore durable and robust.  They are also considerably cost effective and are utilized for operations that need higher load-carrying capacity. Double girder EOT crane manufacturers in India builds these cranes with better designs and utility so that they can transfer much heavier loads than a single girder crane.

Benefits of Overhead Cranes

When it comes to running a massive industrial operation, it is essential to have the right tools available to ensure that smooth and uninterrupted running of all the processes.  An EOT cranes aids in maximizing productivity by quick and easy transport of goods over the industrial floor. Here are a few benefits of using overhead cranes:

Operational Safety: Other moving equipment like forklifts bring with them the risk of inaccuracy in the processes like stacking, dropping goods as well as can cause accidents by crashing. Since an overhead crane moves objects through the overhead space of the facility, any of these risks are eliminated. Moreover, these cranes have precision controls available for the operators which help in the precise positioning of the goods. EOT cranes are capable of moving heavier loads faster than forklifts.

Reduced Floor Obstructions: Since the overhead cranes are positioned above ground and ceiling height, they have almost no impact on the floor area. Due to this, the products can also be carried over any obstacles hence reducing the chances of damage to the products.

Highly Customizable: Overhead cranes are extremely customizable as per the requirement of the operation. For example, many Below-The-Hook accessories can be added to the crane to improve to modify its capabilities like spreader beams, tongs, lifting beams, roll & coil lifters, sheet lifters, and pallet lifters.
